Online Casino Sucker Bets — Part 2

[ English | Deutsch | Español | Français | Italiano ]
  • Progressive side wagers: Games like Caribbean Stud Poker often contain one of these. You generally place a bet (a dollar is the normal amount) to try to win a side jackpot that can reach twenty-five thousand dollars. Although huge jackpots like these are particularly tempting, they’re also particularly difficult to win. You would have to get a Royal Flush in order to hit this wager. Also, picture this- you play 20 hands and lay the side wager each time. That’s $20 you should have used towards the real game wager in place of a sucker bet. Picture what you could have been able to win at a bet with more favorable odds using that $20.
  • Single number bets in Roulette: This is completely true for American Roulette. The reason? American Roulette has 2 zeroes on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has just one. This takes the overall house advantage from 2percent with one zero wheel to a huge 5.26% in American. The single number bet has only a 1 in 38 chance of winning, which are very big odds indeed. Bet on even-odd or black-red bets as a substitute which have a much lower casino edge.
  • Keno: Any version of Keno, and regardless of how you play it, the casino edge can be a whopping twenty-five percent. Yes, that is not a error. Because of the huge set of numbers you must pick, it isn’t recommended to bet on Keno very much. A few times for entertainment, perhaps. But do not waste all your cash on it or you will immediately find yourself broke.
